I really like these mini-shells, do you have enough room for two to sleep or is it more of a solo setup?

 

hows that bow tow with your second gen? Plenty of stopping power? I'm looking at LC's and 2n gens right now

Plenty of room for two large adults. It’s a little bigger than a full size bed.

 

Thanks. I had to take the FYRLYT's off though. They blocked too much air from going to the secondary trans cooler. Went with some smaller Vision X and so not impressed compared to the FYRLYT's. They seriously reached out there! But they were also extremely power hungry. Soon I will have a Heretic bar under the Front Runner that can get me the distance again.

 

ah that sucks, those are my fav lights. Was thinking about putting a set on my first gen but didn't think about how much air they would be blocking.

 

Must be a straight shot to wherever you're hauling that lumber. Can't turn very sharp with the 8 footers in the bed.

It not really towing but I hauled 22 bags of corn the other day.

 

What about the sugar and yeast?

 

I'm an owner of a 2017 Tacoma limited and it does have the factory tow package. This will be my first time towing anything but I will be towing a 4000 lbs car from Austin, Tx to El Paso, Tx which is roughly 600 miles. Plan on using the UHaul vehicle trailer, which shows to be 2,200 for a total load weight of 6,200+ lbs. I know the max load capacity ranges from 6,500-6,800 lbs from what I have read. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on the best way to go about this safely and not risk any damage to my truck?

 

That's heavy. You're getting close to max tow capacity, but you have to take into consideration gross vehicle weight. (passengers, any gear in bed etc.)

 

UHaul trailers are heavy and downright suck. Last one I used would bang when the surge brakes were being activated. Poorly adjusted and on a downhill turn was trying to push the rear of the truck sideways. A local trailer store may also rent (one does up here) a lighter one but you may need a brake module. Also consider pricing a service to bring it to you. More expensive but might be what you're willing to spend.

Took the feeder I made years ago for the goats and got a bale of hay from a friend today.

 

Counting the trailer, it's about 4350 pounds. Not bad, tows well.

 

Drive like your stopping distance quadrupled and pull out into traffic like your acceleration time got quadrupled... Take that into account and you'll have a slow but safe trip.
