Towed a 6300lb Larson Boat over Donner Pass last week. Truck didn't even break a sweat. Steep climbs, high elevation, it didn't care.

About as much as I'm comfortable with. 2000lb. trailer and a 4000lb. tractor. I don't have to tow it often but the truck handles it very well.

How does your truck fair? I saw you said it does well, but how often do you do it? Does your trailer have surge brakes? Do you use a brake controller? I have a tractor around the same size with no scoop but do bush jogging. I have never towed it with my truck. Just drive the tractor on the road. I'd be right about the same weight.

    Any insight is welcomed.

I do have a brake controller and it does a really good job. It is one of those self-adjusting ones. Getting up to speed is not really a problem at all, I mean you can tell that the tractor is there and you're not going to get to speed as fast as normal but I'm surprised at how well the truck does get going. I also installed a set of supersprings and that helps some with the sagging back-end but I kind of wish I would have went with airbags sometimes. I keep most of the weight over the trailer axles and make sure that I have enough tongue weight so I don't get any swaying and it pulls nice and straight. If I keep the bucket against the front rail of the trailer that seems to be a perfect weight distribution. Hope that helps.

Edit: I only have to pull this load about once every other month but I would be comfortable pulling it more if I had to.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Looks like all those trucks you were pulling have broken front drive shafts or something.

Lol, naaww there all pre runners that wanted to do some steeper, harder trails & since I'm the old man with the tin can taco (1st gen.) that happens to be 4x & locked , they keep me around to give'em that little extra pull when they need it. I guess I've become the "official" tow truck....:D

You mean model and size info.? It's a Kubota L4310. HST, rear PTO and front axle seals that like to take a dump about once a year. My service guy tells me that if the axle seals never leaked, he would never see them for anything. I LOVE my tractor!

nice. i have a 3130 HST that's 5 years old and has never wanted for anything other than regular maintenance. great tractors. which front seals in particular? wondering if i should keep and eye on mine...but they most likely don't share the same axles. i'm guessing it's the outers...where the steering pivot is? or is it the hub seals? mine has never leaked a drop of anything thus far. now the '77 JD backhoe...she bleeds from several different spots :)

It's a PJ. Best trailer out there. The removable fenders are the give-away, and the best feature a flatbed can have!

A few of us in my little group of wheeling friends have bought the Pj trailer all within the same month. Best deal for a new trailer out there right now

Towing my Angler. I Just got the truck so its completely stock, but the stock TRD off-road shocks made the ride incredibly smooth.
