I should probably have elaborated and state that it's the best optional feature to have. Dual axle brakes and a winch are standard on my trailers.

Two reasons for my applications, but I'm sure there are more.

First, when i tow my car, I slide out and tip the drivers fender so I can get out of the vehicle after I drive it on the trailer without crawling out the window. The door will not open far enough with the fender in place. It's only 2 quick hitch pins and takes less than a minute.

Second, the deck on a standard hauler (not a deck over) is only going to be 80-83" max between the fenders. If you haul a tractor or off-road buggy, the wheel base is probably going to be at or slightly over 80" rim-to-rim. So you end up scuffing the tires and tweaking the fenders trying to drive the tractor on the trailer. If you remove the fenders, you can gain the extra 4" or so to compensate for the curve of the sidewall of the tire and put them back on after you have the tractor/buggy ready for transport.

I have a 09 4 door TRD 4x4 and a 2010 regular cab 4x4. I have towed a 15' console steer Gregor and a 1/4 ton post WWll Bantam trailer with one or two Hobie kayaks on it with either Taco:

also had a 04 4 door 4x4 TRD that towed the 15' Gregor or Bantam trailer:

Wanted to go to a car show about 2 hours away so I thought I would rent a trailer, because their is a good chance of heavy rain. Usually drive it everywhere. But because of the big tires and a suregrip rearend it can get a little squirlly on wet roads. The first u haul said my car won't fit on the trailer. The next u haul said truck not big enough and wouldn't rent to me.

That sucks. Uhaul has some BS rules to limit their liability. They said my dad couldn't tow a little Kia sportage with his 1500 Silverado. Next time tell them you are towing a VW bug or something.

I usually catch about fifty a winter out at our ranch at Corkscrew,FL. (east of Fort Myers).
People are always hitting them on the road. Hard to see them at night.
    Big problem.

I helped my daughter move yesterday. We rented this big trailer and had it loaded. Made it in one trip.
