Go to autozone or similar even Walmart or trailer place. Tell them what you have and what you are doing. There is a converter that needs to be put inline and it will take what is called a 4 light system ( 2- turn, 2- brake ) and convert it to a 2 light trailer signal. I think my first taco was a '98 and I had to buy one of these boxes. They ran about 40 bucks. But that was in 98-99. Umm also would advise to look into a combo plug. It has a 4-flat and 7 pin RV molded into one housing. I borrow trailers from buddies and even the little trailers have 7 pin plugs. I will have a link or two up shortly. Good luck

    Rain Visors,
Nah, I towed a 79 Caddy and full steel car carrier with my 06 AC TRD OR. I knew it was there, and it was heavy, and gave myself plenty of stopping room. And generally took it easy.

Same trailer, with an 04 Honda accord, LOADED with stuff, and 8ft bed LOADED on my 2010 F350 diesel.....I tipped the scales at 17,600 and i was doing 8o through PA hills and didn't even know it was back there.

It's not so much the power to pull, but when you have a 6K lb trailer hooked to a 5500 lb truck it's a battle. A 6k lb trailer hooked to a 9k lb truck is just an easier safer tow.

If you're pulling a car here and there, or a big boat once/twice a season a taco will be wonderful. If you plan on towing 5000+ regulary I'd probably consider something a little bigger.. but hey to each their own.

point well taken. As for me, I will be towing about 5 times this year, so I am feeling pretty good about my set-up. Would prefer an aluminum trailer, just too damn expensive, but I would save about 600lbs. We'll see how she holds up this season.

figured I would update. Made it to co .... stopping was a bit rough so i left plenty of room ... but truck did great and i was averaging 75 mph and getting 14.5 mpg doing it

No pictures sadly... but right now a 5x8 utility trailer loaded with 2 bikes. The bed get filled with camping gear, cooler, pop-up, tools, etc...

Looking at upgrading to a LivinLite 7x18 though!

^ Nice; I'm currently looking for a trailer so I can start towing my '87 4Runner with my own trailer. Currently I'm having to borrow a trailer all the time and I hate towing with other people's broken crap.

This is my friends 6x12' utility trailer. Works great for the odd landscaping job my friend hooks me up with here and there.

Looks like you have plenty of supervision from the bed of the truck.

Took the travel trailer for it's first trip. The truck handled it better than I thought it would. After an unsuccessful attempt at installing the Dodge tow mirrors, I think I'll give it another shot this month.

Yeah. They can be kind of a P.I.T.A. To get set up but once they are done. You will love them. I love having big mirrors.
