It is a Carson Toy Hauler, FL162 Link. I add to this trailer a roof AC and a Honda 3000is generator in the tongue.

I have done the TSB in the rear suspension and Firestone Air Bags.

Are the airbags worth it? I am towing a 6K trailer with WD and dual cam sway controller. When set up I am level all the way down. I get some good rear bounce on the back roads. Just wondering since we are about the same tongue weight. Also, I have the same brake controller and I had an internal error code the one day. Called Cequent and they said the board may have gone bad so they sent me a new one no questions asked. So something to keep in mind. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348256690.748220.jpg

I'll vouch for the Firestones. I tow my '87 4Runner quite often and the air bags really helped stop that bouncing bs. I have the TSB leafs also; but the air bags made the biggest difference. As my buddy put it one day; "It tows like a big truck" now with the bags.

katzkin leather, toyota step bars, pro grill, advent overhead DVD player, cargo extender, bed mat, husky liners, impulse digital brake controller, avs bugflector, tinted windows, Firestone ride-rite air bags, ARE camper top with tool doors, ScangaugeII, ProEFX tow mirrors, ImMrYo rearview mirror lift bracket, Salex glove box and console organizers, 2020 Tacoma Pro styled wheels, 265/70 r17 Michelin MS2 tires, LED map lights, drivers seat extended and raised, ram ball tech deck installed, blacked out badges, tinted taillights, upgraded climate control knobs, ultimate headlight upgrade with Osram superbrights and wiring harness along wit OEM pro headlight housings.
I would buy them again. They aren't necessary, but they sure make it more comfortable. Plus sometimes I carry more stuff in my truck bed than others. Like some times I need my 4300watt generator for dry camping at racetracks etc. but not if I am going to a campground, so I can adjust the air pressure in the bags based on my load.

Bags are almost a necessity if you got stock springs (even with aal) and tow anything with any real weight. I put 30psi in each bag when haul anything over 3k lbs. 20psi for anything else and 15psi empty. It firms everything up and keeps everything sitting level. I would buy them over again.

And you guessed it man its a 1st gen pickup.

I want bags so bad and the firestone kit is so affordable but I want an onboard compressor and tank with an easy access control either in cab or outside. And that makes it so much more expensive.

Yeah I don't have the tanks or gauges on mine. I use one of those battery jumpers that has an air pump on it. Doesn't take as much time as you would think to do it manually.

What about maintenance on the bags? Is there anything you can do to help the longevity of the bags?

I just check them periodically because the lines are those self locking connectors that you just push the lines into the fittings which tend to leak over time. But besides that I keep the bags clean from grit and debris so the rubber doesn't wear grooves or what have you. Besides that I havnt heard about doing anything else and the manuel I don't think said anything really.

Just picked it up yesterday. The Tacoma did great, except for the gas mileage lol. I took a quick pic at rest stop on the turn pike.
