I would budget for closer to 10 MPG average for the trip...You got some rough terrain ahead of you...

Thanks for the pictures, I will be towing my travel trailer and have the quad in the bed for about an hour and a half long drive to may long campout. A bit concerned on how the truck will do.

Trailer weighs in at 5000 pounds fully loaded, Then quad is about 600 pounds. Any input on this?

just do everything in slow motion (accelerating, braking, turning, etc.) and you'll be fine.

Watch your speed and following distance ( I think California limits trucks w/ trailers to 55 mph anyways right? ). Other than that just keep it in 4th.

Thanks. It is a Treeline Teardrop 509 (5x9), built in Petaluma, CA (Norcal), under license from SoCal Teardrops, in Upland CA.
    http://www.treelineteardrops.com/

The wife is a big reason we have this! She loves them, and is no stranger to pooping in the woods. Compared to backpacking the John Muir Trail, this is the Four Seasons.

This is for our non-backpacking trips, and for quick getaways tot he mountains of coast.

Thanks for all the quick responses guys! Unfortunately I was buying it as a project to fix up for my parents but it needed WAY too much work unfortunately...

Hopefully getting one soon, and don't worry, there will be PICS!!! Haha
