Another towing episode today, I picked up the Zuki from Tucson for my build. Again, easy towing, 65-70mph at 2k revs on the freeway.

Towing my Harley. Tacoma had 500 miles on it and I drove about 500 miles today to south GA with it. Going 75-85 and averaging about 13 mpg. I slowed down to 70-75 and got 14.8 mpg. I hope it gets better.

    I know this isn't a truck and I'm not towing anything but I couldn't resist. At least it's a Toyota :)

This is -MY- 90 celica GT-S and I sware this is a legit pic:

It was around this time that I thought "hmmmm, maybe I should get a truck".

Started out with a 98 regular cab and just got an 09 dbl cab after toyota bought back my 98 for rust.

I drove about 40 miles with that riding lawnmower back there. Rear rode a lil low. . maybe they should have had a rear spring TSB on those celicas. .

    :D:D:D

Unfortunately, I think those speeds will really work against getting good mileage. I imagine that 55-60 would give you the best results, not that you may want to travel at those speeds, LOL :)

    Great looking bike BTW!

I was on the highway today when I came across one of my good friends parked in a driveway off the side of the highway and stopped to talk. It turned out he was driving home and started feeling a shaking in the front of his truck and decided to pull off and take a look for the problem. Upon hitting the brakes, he heard 'popping' and when he got out he found 1 lug nut holding on his driver's front tire and saw a few lug nuts/snapped studs sitting in the highway. The situation was caused by brother who had borrowed his tires to do a test fit on a truck he's been building and didnt torque them properly. I went home and got our flatbed and hauled his truck home for him. Here's pics outside their shop.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
did some tree trimming over the weekend. lift weighs 4500, and the truck handled it just fine. this baby goes 50' feet up and i wasn't thrilled about running a chain saw out of it, but managed ok. i was ready to be done after being up in it for two days.

I towed my 400EX on a 5'x10' trailer from central KY to far western KY to Land Between the Lakes (LBL) Turkey Bay OHV Park today. Running 75, it got 13 MPG and was downshifting fairly frequently. On the return trip, I slowed down to 70-72 and it didn't down shift quite as often-I'll have to check the MPG when I fill it up Monday. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed it only got 13 MPG when towing such a light load. It also makes me wonder how well I could actually tow near the 6500 lb capacity.

I've towed by LBL, its kinda hilly. Slow down to 60-65 mph and your mileage will probably jump past 16mpg. My 4 cylinder tows over 5000 lbs, so I think your v6 can easily handle 6500lbs.

This is my 7x12 Haulmark trailer loaded down with all of my earthly belongings. Total truck + trailer weight was just over 11,000 pounds. Truck is an 02 3.4L 5 speed Xtra Cab with a 3" lift from northwest offroad (new stiffer leaf springs). I installed a brake controller and 7 pin connector before the trip to help with braking. I pulled it from Belleville, IL to Huntsville, AL. It pulled in 5th gear most of the way going 50-60mph. On some hills between Nashville and Huntsville I'd have to drop into 3rd and be going under 40mph, but all in all it went better than I expected for such a heavy load. It should never have to pull it that heavy again, thank God. The trailer weight was about 7900 pounds when fully loaded. Here are two pics, the first one is with the trailer empty and the second one is with the trailer and truck loaded, right before we took off from IL for the move.
