    I made them for jigging during the summer. They're 1/2 and 3/4 ounce and either used right off the bottom while anchored up over 50-90' of water or while targeting suspended kokes showing up on the fishfinder. My favorite method is going after the suspended ones in a slight breeze while doing a slow drift with a sea-anchor.

    yep...used a dry brine.

    4 cups of brown sugar
    1 cup of pickling salt (I used kosher salt)
    4 tablespoons rosemary
    3 tablespoons oregano
    3 tablespoons basil
    3 tablespoons of bay leaf

    Mix and layer the above ingredients between fillets in a glass or ceramic container. Let sit in refer overnight...rinse off in morning. Place in smoker skin side down. Used 4 pans of alder wood. Remove after 4 hours and let sit in refer overnight before vacum packing.

    edit: I would suggest useing 1/2-3/4 cup salt on your first batch...then add a bit more next time if needed until you get to the desired taste your looking for.

    It is!! I use a spinning reel loaded up with Tuf-Line XP Indicator color metered braid (different color every 10') with a 10' section of 6lb mono leader. The metered braid makes getting back down to where they're showing on the fishfinder extremely fast and accurate. Also, the braid doesn't stretch for solid hook-sets.

    edit: I should point out that the target depth for kokanee at the lake I fish (6,000' elevation) is 40-60 feet down. When trolling we use downriggers with 8lb weights to get down to that depth.

    i like older 911s. this is a '74 i used to own with a 3.0L. had it shipped from california to nyc, owned it for about a year and a half, had to sell it when i bought a house. before this one i had a 73 911S, totally rebuilt. never should have sold that one. price of those things have taken off.
