I'm curious to know how you plan to mount the bed bars? I had some on my second gen, but there's no rail system on my first gen.

Just bolting it through the bed rails or possibly making a bracket to clamp it on.

Well none of these are a very good pic of the rack itself but i really like it and definitely chose that height in mind for a RTT. Should be bout perfect size for a tent to be bout level with the top of the cab, keeping wind resistance/bugs in check along with keeping COG at a slightly better spot versus having a rack that was already cab height.

Gosh those pics suck! There are 4 cross bars bolted to the two main bed width pieces to mount goodies or to allow cargo to set up on and be mounted to the top of the rack. Those bars can be moved to any spot along the main brackets to fit your current needs. I really like that adjustability versus being stuck with a totally fixed rack with no options for cargo changes.

Hey how does the top of your bed rack look without the tent?

I know it’s not exactly what you are looking for, but I have a Thule truck rack for mine. I like it as it as the height is adjustable. I’ve only used it for kayaks/ canoe but my cousin has one on his truck with a rtt mounted solidly.
