Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th out on the water this weekend!

we had a less then normal (but fun) time this weekend.

Loaded up the boat, fiancé and puppy to take it about an hour away for launching. put the boat in the water about 12 miles from where we were meeting my parents on their boat to watch the Annapolis fireworks, right by the naval academy. as soon as the boat was in the water.....downpour. the rain flattened out the water nicely, but it was a very wet 12 miles.

luckily the rain cleared up for the rest of the day and we had a nice time on with the family and some friends on the big boat trawler.

made the 12 mile run back in the dark with an off road LED strapped to the bow, and 2 headlamps with the combined lumens of a 20" LED bar on my head. it was a very dark, creepy trip back, but fun none the less.
(fiancé and dog opted to go back on the slower, big boat that's equipped with some serious spot lights  )

It's a ton of fun. Gives me an opportunity to run in really skinny backcountry. It's all composite, no wood. Pretty simple setup, however as durable as they get. Here's a link.

Epic. Wouldn't survive in the ICW down here though...

The last picture was taken on the ICW from Port O Connor, TX. It handles well in the chop although it can sometimes be a rough ride. Personally, I think 20mph winds are the limit, maybe 25mph, but who wants to fish in those kinda conditions anyway. I prefer 10-15mph.

Our "big" boat, getting replaced soon though because it's not super stable at speed because of the deep V hull.

Bowhuntercoop, that lil flatbottom boat is sweeet. Jet propulsion on a boat is definitely a great way to run skinny water.
