Aluminum is kinda "cold" and I think I want to rework it a little.

It's not bad feeling but I think I am going to do a revB out of delrin and play with the dimensions/proportions a little bit.

Thought I would throw this tidbit in here since it was a recent mod.

I used to have a rubber washer to cover the chrome bezel.

You can either cut it down like some others have done and reglue the bottom silver trim piece to the shifter....

Or to retain complete stock appearance go the more complicated route and add an M8 stud and coupler nut to extend it so it clears the shifter trim plastics. It took some fine tuning for me to fit the coupler nut on the inside of the shifter due to the plastic structure inside of it that works to secure the top of the knob with the shaft.

I ended up filing out the inside until the coupler nut made a snug fit and fine tuned the length of the M8 stud until it was at my desired height. Sort of hard to explain but it isn't as easy as it seems the way the shifter is made. The upper portion only has enough diameter on the inside to allow a M8 stud to access the threads.

I probably would have gone the easier trim route than what I ended up doing.

I bought it off eBay. A little pricey, but I like it. It's a lot beefer than the stock one.

Correct. Part number is PTR57-34140. It's also on the TRD Pro. This knob is too long to just screw right on. Some guys on here have cut or sanded the bottom of the knob but you don't have too. I wasnt going to do that to a brand new part. The bottom part of the knob comes off. I tried rocking it back and forth by hand but had no luck so I got a small toggle bolt and put it in the hole on the bottom of the knob. With the knob in one hand and a pair of plyers in the other gripping the screw, I was able to pry the bottom part off without damaging it. I then threaded a stop nut onto the shifter and then threaded the knob on. It took a few trys to get the nut threaded down/up so that the knob would stop and not hit anything while I shifted all the way down. Hope that makes sense
