    I will upload pics later today. Had my iPhone stolen so I lost all the pics from while it was being built :( but a friend with a wood shop and a skilled hand helped me fashion two drawers and a platform from TruckVault diagrams. So, pretty much a clone of a TruckVault but about 1/3 the price.

    Holy Mother of the Lord and Baby Jesus. This is a really cool setup. Have really been thinking about interior support for my cap to support a cap rack.

    Pretty pleased with what I came up with here. Lived out of the back of the truck this summer while working an office job, pretty comfortable setup. I wanted a single big drawer with the whole assembly able to be removed pretty easily. I have two 2x10s running the length of the bed with a plywood sleeping platform. On the sides, I have piano hinges that connect to little flappy flaps that cover the side storage. They flip up so I can access that space while in the back. I have two turnbuckles towards the front of the truck that hold it down to the bed hooks, no turnbuckles necessary in the back. Takes two people about 15 seconds to get it out.

    lol at flappy flaps! Nice setup. I'm trying to figure out how to build a part time one that'll go under a cover vs a cap. You gave me an idea- I can do those so my bed is flat, but make them removable and have it so poles can attach to a tarp. Thanks!

    How do you like the soft topper and how does it do in the rain?

    It's a bestop not a soft topper. practically the same though. I love it. It leaks a tiny bit at all four corners, but since I live in SoCal its not a problems for me at all.

    Would you be willing to share your specs on this design? It is exactly what I would like to build.

    I've built a number of storage units for FJ Cruisers and 4Runners, and I like the simplicity of your design. What drawer sliders are you using?

    I don't have my drawings anymore because they got pretty demolished during the build of it. Probably why it ended up four inches too wide (dumbass). You have any specific questions? All it is is 2x10s butted up against the wheel wells, a piece of plywood across and a drawer as big as you feel like inside. I got the Accuride 60" IIRC.

    Well, because it is SO easy to take out, it's out of the truck right now while I'm running errands setting up the new house. Sorry I can't be more useful but I'll try to remember to post a dimension when they're back in. On a more qualitative note, it's not quite tall enough to sit up in even with the MX cap. it's only a 5/8" plywood thickness above the outer rim in the bed though if that's helpful.

    If it was building one I would use a single piece of SINGCORE resting on the ledge (won't need anything else for support);

    http://singcore.com/product/sing-panels

    Strong enough not to deform over the span of the box, lightweight, insulated, would be easy to store when not needed.

    I am leaning towards a bed slide.

    Sorry, don't know the cost. But it can be ordered at Lowes.

    Here is what I found. I called around and talked to guys I've worked with on remodels and also called lowes:

    Pricing is variable based on volume, but if there was a sliding scale for building material cost Sing Core goes on the extreme side of it. The guys I spoke to ballpark'd it at 8 times the price of a sheet of high end maple laminate 3/4" plywood, even at the scale of use for a full home.

    Lowes is an authorized seller in the states, but they hold no inventory and it has to be custom ordered. When I talked to them they said I needed to fill out a full page order form and sing core would then respond with a quote within 3-5 days. If I have to fill out paperwork and request a quote, I know the price tag is going to hurt. When I mentioned the size of my application the guy at Lowe's literally said "This stuff is absurdly expensive and is only used in custom applications with no traditional material solutions.

    pra4sno; LOL... Relax... Did not realize people were going to be so uptight in here!

    I know I am new here and just getting used to the forum but I think this is a better example of how you could have responded;

    "While SINGCORE may be a quality product- I think it is very expensive- But I was not able to get an actual price so I will just go by what Wally behind the counter at Lowes says." Or simply; "I feel there are better and cheaper materials to use."

    Sorry for the small hijack- back to bed stuff!
