Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
All Sigs are going to have external extractors.
Dan Wesson is going to be the finest production 1911.
See Dawson Precision for FO sights, and while you're there, the best bang for the buck in 1911's is the STI Spartan, and it comes with FO front sight.
I had one and it was the most accurate 1911 I have ever shot.

My 'smith suggested DP to get the FO, since apparently they guarantee the fit. Damned shame, since I'd already bought a Fusion sight for it- right dovetail, wrong pin hole.
I will probably end up taking the gun to DP, since they (as well as STI) are about 7 miles from the house.
The main reason I went with Sig over the STI Ranger is that ramped barrels are going to be harder to replace.

Just got my Ruger SR1911. Only shot 75 rounds through it but so far I really like it.

    RIA Tactical.
Removed the ambi safety and replaced it with a Colt 1A, removed the full length guide rod and plug and replaced with GI style. 16 pound SpringCo recoil spring, Brown arched MSH, and Raasco Dymwood grips.

So why didn't I buy the GI? I like the beavertail, sights, trigger, and ejection port of the Tactical.

No problems with the 10 rounder?
I've always heard that 10 rounders were problematic for 1911, and my RIA is pretty picky on mags. I've got one "Shooting Star" that is nothing but problems, but the other one is fine... go figure!

@ Rich91710 -haven't had problems with the 8rd "Shooting Stars" but with the 10rd power mags, it sometimes doesn't lock back on the last round.

Does your AMSCOR stock 8rd mag lock in fully loaded. My won't lock in unless I lock the slide back and than send it forward, 7+1.

    No problem at all.
I've got 8 mags for it from 3 different manufacturers (4 of them are Chip's, only 2 are SS) and the only one that gives consistent problems is the one shooting star. Odd feed problems... not a stovepipe, but the slide will lock back and the round will just be sitting there halfway into the chamber. It's not en ejection problem.
None of the other mags do it, just that one Chip's.

Nice guns here. Just got my GI cut for Novaks, lowered and flared the ejection port and have a threaded barrel on order for the AAC TiRant that I also have on order. If an awb bill passes, tactical 1911s will be the next big thing - mark my words!
