I appreciate it. Didn't want to add too much weight and love the almost oem look of the hidden winch mount.

Anybody out there running 285s with 4 cylinder? I know it's gonna be slow, but how bad can it be. Is it worth it? I was gonna go with 265/70/17 KO2 which is 46 lbs, but then Toyo Open Country AT3 has 285s that is 47 lbs in standard load (SL). About the same weight and just over an inch taller and 3/4 inch wider. I think I just talked myself into it. Thoughts? Advice? Concerns?

Some people with 6 cylinders regear with 285s. I’d say it would feel like a slug with 285s and stock gearing on a 4 but I am not as knowledgeable as a lot of these lads.

Just have the stock 2nd gen trd pro / Baja suspension (about 1.5/2 inch lift in the front and add a leaf in the back) and a cab mount chop. No rubbing, I think part of it has to do with the 10mm offset of the trd wheels. Anyone hesitant about the 10 ply tires I would say it’s not bad at all imo.

This looks really good on a 2nd gen. No rubbing on the inner well where the pinch welds are?

If you get a quality tire and add proper psi should be fine. I have 10 ply as well not to different from stock imo.

Did you have to do any trimming? And do you like a +1 offset rim would be okay in place of a wheel spacer? I just got my Tacoma and it has a rough country 3in lift and I'm trying to figure out if I can run 285's

No trimming so far, I've tested with forward/reverse and incline/decline with steering lock. At the extreme I have 3/4" on both driver and passanger side wheels against the wheel well. Not really sure about the +1 offset, check out this post for the measurment
