    A few.
Tire manufacturers recommend 7.5-8 inch wheels for 285s but alot of people run them on the 7 inch wheels. Personally Ive always thought 285s look better/bigger on the 8 inch wheels.

Thank you kindly, that's what I got sitting on the shelf, the Westcott front lift.
I might go with a AAL or a leaf pack for the rear, but right now the front sits 1.5" lower stock than the rear.

The 23 uses a different UCA so you may need to run a spacer to clear it.

I went by the PPF shop today where my Tacoma is.
I'm able to stick my hand between the 265/70/16 tire and UCA, 285/75/16 should be less than half inch(3/8") added thickness on each side of the tire, it should be fine with the Westcott front lift i intend to use.
    Will definitely update once finished.

Love the stance on your truck. What size lift are you running?

    Thanks man!

I have a 2 inch level up front and the Icon AAL in the rear. It’s nothing crazy but gives it a good amount of clearance and doesn’t look ridiculous lol.

Seems like you have some skills in acquiring wheels/tires!

I'm always fascinated with the results members here post...and you deserve some credit for what you do and how you treat the tire shop! (Bringing Food!)

Well, I can't afford a quad both for the price and storage area, wheels are the next best thing. I buy them I swap them, I use them offroad and, my wife doesn't see another monthly payment coming out of our checking so she must think that my wheels keep cloning themselves

I hear "cash transactions" are the "In Thing" when buying a new Tacoma...at least here, there are plenty of members who remind the rest of TW that paying cash "in full" for a new truck is the way to go! (It's all opinion based) lol

But back to the cash transaction...if it doesn't show up on the online banking register, there's nothing to explain!

That's why your wheels/tires keep cloning themselves...in her mind! LOLOLOL!

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the grill and front bumper are changing soon. This one is getting a TRD Grill, with Cement Grey Lettering, and a Winch Bumper.

Old post, but I just ordered the Bilstein Lift Kit - 3 in front and 2 in rear. Now deciding on wheels and tires. Guy at shop wants me to go 285-70-17 but I've read somewhere that the wider tires will affect MPG. I do all city and highway driving.

    My gut was 275-70-17.

Am also stuck between matte black wheel or glossy black as my truck is basically glossy black.

    Thanks.
