    This is VERY true

I think it should stay 16s though. Too many 17s... But I'm making the switch in the next couple months :pout:

I can go into detail of my exact suspension setup if needed. I figured 2.5in of lift up front would suffice and answer most questions on fitment

Icon CO lift set at approx 2.5" w/ icon aal. Sits maybe 1/2" or so higher in rear.
Did CMC/ BMC, removed front mud flaps and did minor trimming on plastic fender flares- very bottom, inside edges. Have not had to flatten pinch weld at this point likely due to caster setting. I can't remember that number

Very nice truck. Why the hell does toyota put chrome on these trucks? Its such a drag. Im still trying to figure out how to cover up my chrome rear bumper with out shelling out a ton of money. Question for you. when you have the rack open. Does it make a lot of noise on the road?

Honestly I just installed it around April/ may so I have not had the cross bars in place while driving. I have read where others say there is a little noise.
Eventually the bumper will go but when I bought the truck the fake hood scoop on the trd sport was more of a distraction than the chrome bumper on the trd off-road. Thank you for the compliment on the truck. 1 more month, yeah right, until relentless fab sliders are supposed to be done.

    Thanks!
I'm running OME up front with 886 coils and OME Dakar leaf springs in the rear. I did have to trim some of the liner up front when I had my stock front bumper on. On this trip I noticed I'm getting some rubbing on the cab mount, so a chop is in my future... eventually. The top is a softtopper that I bought off craigslist

Anyone else. Come on people. I know 17's is almost the standard these days, but I know there are still plenty more tacomas out there on 16's. Lets see them

I'll post some as soon as I can afford some tires. My tiny stock tires would look pretty bad.

I think I'm going to put the billies on with the stock springs to level it for now, and put the old tires on the new wheels. Then once I save enough for new tires I'll put the OME coils and AAL on to finish the lift.

    Stock suspension for now
    No rubbing

I'll get the lift on by the end of July, then I'm color matching the grill and blacking out the badges.
Lastly, I'll either paint the stock rear bumper black, or buy a nice new one. I'll post pics as I go.

Well call me bias because I have a super white tacoma in a double cab. I think it looks great. do maybe a 2.5-3 lift in the front. Get rid of all that chrome an you are set. Ive always liked the way the way shorter body trucks like access cables look when they have nice wheels and tires and leveled. They just look more sporty than the double cabs. I just went with a double cab because I needed something that would serve as a car and and a boat hauler. No need to spend all that money on replacing the bumper or having it painted. Check out http://www.ecoological.com/bumpershellz.html I just ordered some of the paintable ones and am going to paint them with the Dupli color match super white paint. Ill post pictures when I am done. Total cost should with the bumper shellz and paint is less that 200 bucks.

I really wanted a double cab, but my priority was finding a Manual V6 4x4, so I couldn't be picky on much else. Took 6 months to find this one and I had to get it shipped cross country to me.

Those covers look nice. I'm gonna plasti dip mine for now, I just bought new springs and my wife wouldn't approve of another 200 dollar purchase:ballchain:

But they are definitely on my list.

Yeah well you found it and its a nice truck, plus you save quite a bit going from double cab to access cab. I personally do not do any off roading so I wasn't looking for a 4x4 though there are plenty of them out there to be had.
