i hate my bfg km2s, they are great offroad, greal offroad pulling and will get you through mucky shit but...altough i rotate them every 3k miles and get an alignment when needed they cup like all hell and they wear fast too, the nitto mud grapplers are the same if not worse...im selling my bfgs now and probably switching to toyos or wranglers

I'm pretty sure the the Toyo's will get better gas milage. They are heavier, but not as soft as rubber as the BF's.

Both my buddy Tom (monkeyproof) and I run the Hankook RT03 MTs. We both love them. Best tire for the money hands down. Let me know if your interested, I have a mad hook up. I paid $660 for mine. Mounted and balanced.

If you don't want a M/T, why don't you try the Toyo A/T's? They're a great self cleaning tire. Great on and off road.

My buddy just got new Toyo A/T's, he switched from TG's that he barely got 30k out of...(and he's a fanatic about his truck, keeping it clean and rotating the tires, all that...). So far, he's got about 10k on the Toyos and he loves them. Normal wear. These are 35's and on an F350.

My BFGs are actually the old KM's, not the KM2. They run pretty good, mileage is fairly decent with them but they're only 32's and I want some bigger tires on my truck. The 295/70's are a 33.5" so I figure a little bit of trimming and my truck will look pretty mean with em on. The Trail's are a load E, but not as heavy as the Toyos and supposedly they're quieter and smoother than the Toyos on the Highway and they're a bit cheaper than the Toyos too. If I didnt get the trail grapplers, a 285/75/17 or 295/70/17 Toyo MT would be my 2nd choice probably.

The Hankooks almost look like an A/T. How is the ride on the street? I am slightly interested.

Yeah Toyo, actually owns Nitto, and Toyo's are made with a harder compound then the TG's.

My BFG Km2s are awesome. Ive only had them for about 3,00 miles though so my review is somewhat limited. In this time, however, I have been able to take them offroad and check out their capabilities. Like others have mentioned, its an awesome offroad tire with amazing traction and tough composition.

Their on-road performance is great depending on what your looking for. A loud tire is subjective, but IMO my tires are loud. I can hear them on the street and on the highway. However, like others have mentioned, if your looking for a quiet tire, you shouldnt be looking at mud tires. It hasnt rained since Ive had them so I can comment on wet traction. And as for the wear of the tire, they seem to be doing fine. I dont see any signs of cupping, uneven wearing or excessive wearing in the short time Ive had them.

I'll put this one on my list. I think you influenced Paul switching from KM2 to this one. Hahaha.

How do you like the LT?

    Thanks.

I got Toyos MT 33x12.5r15, Better Gas Milage? I think Not. Its a heavier tire. More weight to get rolling. adding 6.6% I get roughly 14-15mpg.

Edit, My next sets are going to be Toyo MT as well.

I have the Definity Dakota MTs 285/75/R16 from Pep Boys (rebranded Cooper tires) D-rated.
    I'm about 95% street 5% off road.
    They're warranteed for 40K miles.
They are loud but I would guess any MT would be. It's the only tire I've ever run other than the stockers so I have nothing to compare it with.
I've read that they're a two-ply tire which can be bad for punctures but the plys are real thick.
Plus, they're buy 3 get one free (you have to use their mounting though). cost is $140 per tire.
