If you are eyeing these then don't think to much and get them. I've ran 3 sets of tires from MT to AT and these are by far my favorite.

Figured with all the input people throw in here I would ask some of y'all, I looked at every page to look at different setups and there are nice ass setups on here. My question is that I would like to stay on my stock o/r rims with my 285's but upon looking at them today I notice I only have maybe 1/2 inch clearance between the tire and UCA. I would like to avoid spacers so would a wheel with 4" backspacing or less work? Seems like all the wheels I like are 4.5".

2nd Gen stock is 5.25" BS so anything with a smaller number would push the wheel out farther. 4.5" will turn you .5" clearance into 1.25" a 4" would give you 1.75". The farther you push the tire out the more chance it will rub.

    3xLocked, lifted, well used
new as of yesterday. 33x12.50 MTR Kevlars

Thought about changing rims but didn't want to drop the extra coin on new ones right now. I actually really like how these tires fit on my rims. Rims are 15x8 3.75" BS so no new rubbing as of yet and they line up really well with the outer lip of the flares. Just how I like 'em.

Rims will need a repaint once the weather warms up. This spring/summer really did a number on them with lots of rock rash. Oh well, it's all part of the fun.

Impressions on the tires so far are that they feel more planted than the skinny 33x10.50s. No suprise with the wider footprint. I like it, but the skinnys had quicker steering response. No noticable loss of power with the wider tires. And oddly enough I haven't noticed a difference in fuel economy yet. Time will tell if that changes. Looking forward to getting them in the rocks once the snow melts.

I like the look of the wider footprint.

Here's a before with the 10.50s when they were new.

So less back spacing will push the wheel out further and cause the tire to rub? So I would need 5.5" backspacing or more? Just completely confused when it comes to this along with offsets and what not. Even after reading the sticky on wheel dimensions.

Never posted back up after dropping the too long goofy centercaps on the fuels. Got a set of shorter caps in stainless instead of regular so maybe they won't rust up too soon. Good so far.............

These are the center caps that should have come with the wheels to begin with.
