I'm going to ask a stupid question here... I've been doing some reading and can't quite figure it out. Obviously I can slap rims on it. Question is, how big/wide can I go if I am keeping my stock suspension for now?! Seems like some peeps say one thing, others say something else...

As big as you want within reason, and no smaller than 16". Also take note of your backspacing. My SR8's have 4" backspacing and -12mm offset, but I rub mudflaps stuffed at full lock with my stock size 265's. Removing the flaps or lifting the truck would fix it, but it's such a moot issue I've never bothered to do either.

Also note the Tacoma uses hub-centric wheels.

Thanks a lot for the info and the input! I have the stock 17" Sport wheels right now so not looking to go smaller. Thinking about keeping the same size, or maybe just one size bigger, if that.

Why can't you go smaller than 16"?

I believe if you go smaller than 16" the wheel will hit the brake caliper.

Is that only for 2nd gens? Because 1st gens had 15" and 16" wheels from factory.

If I had to guess I'd say it's only 2nd gens, not 100% sure tho. I know my 16" wheels are really close on my 13 and now on my 16 so no way you can do a 15" wheel on them.

I think they are like a +30mm. Mine are 0mm offset and they stick about an inch out of the fender flare and my factorys were about 1/2 to 3/4 inside the fender flare. Hope this helps!!
