There are still codes being thrown, the Scanguage just cant pick it up. Go to Autozone, its free and they can clear the codes. My brothers Snap-on code reader has picked up things that my Scanguage didn't.

Oh, i never got it scanned. it's been litterally a year now and nothing's changed, it behaves normally and the brakes hasnt acted up once. I just ignore it and drive normally. Eventually i'll get it checked out but for now i'll pocket the 50$ and drive on.

did you check the harness that plugs into the ABS sensors on the brakes themselves?
I was driving to Payson a week after i bought my truck and those lights turned on andwhen i got to my area i was going crazy looking for a bad fuse, fluid levels etc. Luckly i decided to just go under the truck and my right rear harness had come undone, plugged it in and the lights turned off

Not trying to sound like an ass here, but why do you think that $49 is a ridiculous charge? You come to my shop, I take my time to connect my $2000 scan tool to your vehicle and read the codes. Then take my time again to explain these codes and suggest where to go from this point. Should I just simply do that for free? See, those scan tools that the parts stores have are like mentioned, only designed for engine codes. They are cheap, simple code readers. The ABS and body system codes require a much more expensive tool for this. I am sorry, but for a new customer that I have no idea if they are going to want the repairs done or simply want me to tell them the codes, or clear them, I am charging you fair shop rate and time. Nothing ridiculous about that. you wouldn't do YOUR job for free, would you?

I think it's ridiculous simply because i didnt want to pay that price at that time(over a year ago). I have since ignored the lights and to the advice of a member who had the same problem, i am going to check to see if anything got loosened. If this happens to be the case, then i just saved a tanks worth of gas money and am one happy owner.

To be fair, you made great points, i admit i am a bit naive when it comes to this stuff as i want to be able to do things on my own, just the kind of kid i am. I am aware that the code readers that the dealer had may have very well pointed to the issue immediately and resolved it for the fee+additonal charges. I said screw it at that time and decided to let it ride. I've had ZERO problems whatsoever with my brakes, and the ABS system, maybe in part that my truck is a pavement princess at the moment and the ABS has never had to do it's job.

I will check into the harness solution today and if that solves it cool, if not, then i'll keep on trucking.

To answer your question, i wouldnt do it for free. I already admitted my faults. :)

    thanks for your advice though,

If you did sound like an ass, it's none taken. Such is life that sometimes you gotta be spoken to in that manner.

Had the same lights come on and it ended up the tire rubbed a whole in that wire. Soldered them back together.

Sorry it runs from the frame to the tire abs sensor. On both front wheels. I think a new wire was not bad priced but the sensor was expensive. But it was just 2 wires in the loom and an easy fix.

You should see a thick black wire with a grey connector. It goes to the brake dust shield

Has anyone actually followed through.. or know someone who has,
with the diagnosis to the ABS actuator and replaced it with a positive result?
