08 Tacoma V6 AT. 305k Miles. When the truck hit 300k miles I did a transmission fluid change, just a drain and fill I did everything right. OEM fluid right amount of quarts right temperature. Only thing I did different was put two tubes of shudder fix in it because at first I thought it was the torque converter because of the shaking but it was just spark plugs. Truck has been running normal and shifting like butter when I drove it for 4000 miles but when it hit 305k miles I started seeing the shudder more and a little rough shifts here and there. I'm just trying to get feedback on what I should do. Should I change the fluid out again and put new fluid in including shudder fix but instead of 2 tubes I do 3 tubes. Then drive it around and see what happens or should I just pull the plug and buy a new torque converter. I have not check the u joint but I will check it this week and then come back with an answer.

I appreciate all the help you guys can give me. Thank you.

I just bought a 2003, and it has a bad shudder sometimes... it is at higher speed though. I was advised by a mechanic to check the drive shaft middle bearing, which he claimed was common. I haven't even looked under it yet.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Center bearing would be a good start, maybe.

    Anyone seen my wallet?
mine had this problem around 70-80mph, would come and go.

i replaced the tires, front hubs, had the driveshaft rebuilt and carrier bearing replaced, no go. I got so frustrated after all that that i just traded it in.

talked to some guys at a local yota shop and they said its not uncommon with these transmissions, tq converter shudder. Maybe worth looking into.

Yeah I'm thinking it's the torque converter but I'm going to replace the carrier bearing first and see what happens.

I had the TC shudder at 112K miles. A drain and fill fixed it for me.
My TC issues was at the same speed range, but at 1200 - 1500 RPM when coasting because the transmission up shifted to save gas. I'd feather the throttle to maintain speed and the shudder would occur. If I accelerated harder the transmission down shifted and there was no shudder.
There's a brake tap test to check for TC lock up. This post describes the brake tap test: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...sion-shudder-any-advice.772383/#post-27588697
Also, if you have an automatic does manually shifting elevate the shudder?

A coworker had identical symptoms. The dealer replaced a corroded diff breather valve, and it fixed it form him. They also replaced his diff and tranny fluids at the same time, so I take this with a grain of salt, but they said it was the valve causing the issue.
