Same issue here 4x2 , two dealers couldn't replicate the issue, mostly happens in the mornings and when left parked.

Nah, my truck is stock and new. Only 300 miles on it. I'm gonna take it to the dealer.

I think you might have a different issue.

Ok i dropped off my truck today for my 5000 mile service and they said they heard the howl at 53-55 mph and felt the shudder, but they said "we gave you a case number but there isnt anything we can do right now." I havent picked up the truck yet, but what should I do? Does a case number do anything for me? Can I make the dealership do something to try and fix it? I mean I love my truck and these things are more just a nuisance than anything. But I would rather them tell me exactly what is causing the issue more so than "yea we hear it, but we cant do anything"

The Howling is a completely different issue and I think it's been addressed with putting some rubber plugs in a couple of the holes underneath the lower control arms.

Took my '16 Offroad dbcb AT with towing package to dealer today for vibration at 15-20mph when deaccelerating. Just heard from service writer who said that they know that there is a true problem and have a call in to Toyota. Hope to hear something tomorrow. Will post any updates. Maybe they will find a real fix!

Hey Contra, make sure you get a case number with Toyota. Just bringing it to the dealer and having them tell you they don't really find anything isn't going to get you a case number. Toyota needs to be notified you can call them directly.

I'm also having this issue with the steering wheel shudder/shimmy you feel when decelerate from 25 mph to a stop. I have a case open for this and was told yesterday the dealer determined there was no defect or safety issue with the truck.

My case manager said people need to keep calling in about this in order for Toyota to realize this is an issue. So same spiel and I wonder how many others (non-TW owners) are experiencing it. Does anyone on this thread also have the terrible vibration thru the gas pedal and steering wheel too when accelerating? I unfortunately have this in addition to the shudder.

Yes, there is another huge thread dedicated to new owners talking about their new 35k vibrators, myself included (talk about chick magnet). The issue in this thread seems to be separate from that. Still, you should call Toyota about BOTH!

That is not a bad idea! I haven't talked to my case person since the dealership blamed the shudder on my tires last Friday. I should call to let her know that I don't agee with there finding and want to make sure the case is kept open. Although I should know tomorrow if the axle shims help.

I don't recall having a thud, and I don't really feel in the steering wheel. 4 wheel drive it's still there.

I've been told by the guys working on my truck that they diagnosed this as an alignment toe in/out issue (-12° ). Apparently fixing the alignment and rotating the tires fixed it.

It's still in the shop, but I've been told that fixed the problem. I'm skeptical, but will keep everyone posted if I ever get it back.
