    From the Service Manager;
"Is it possible to bring the truck by today? We have some instructions from Toyota for diagnosis."

I will keep everyone posted... wish me luck!

That is great to hear. Keep us updated for sure!

On a side note, you don't happen to have the 2100-2400 RPM buzzing type vibration in steering wheel and floorboard do you? Just seeing if you can try to kill two birds here when he/she comes out :D

Awesome, thanks. Make sure you check what the engine RPMs are at when/if you notice it as well.

Don't be surprised when your work order comes back saying, "...has been identified and Toyota is aware of the problem and working on a solution. We will keep customer updated." And in the end they will not update you or provide any specs. If it's a driveline careful because lifting could make it worse or dissappear they said. My lift is on hold.

Not planning on lifting it.. but good to know... If they don't fix the problem then I do have a lawyer ready to pounce.... I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, just want it fixed

Update on my shudder mainly when I was slowing down through 20 miles and then again about 15 miles per hour when it was most noticeable. Remember I did put a 6 inch lift on my truck, have a full 5-inch Leaf pack put on the rear. We put four degree Axle shims under the rear leaf pack and it didn't completely straighten out the differential but it is more straight than it was and I think the shudder is pretty much gone. Didn't get a chance to drive it much because I had to drop it off at another shop to get a speedometer calibrator put on tomorrow, butt I think that was the fix. My point being even without a lift it's possible that the trucks have a bad angle with the differential for the rear drive shaft. Because everybody explaining their little shimmy or shudder seems to be very very similar to what I had!

Toyota "expert" flew in, didn't feel a vibration, then left. NEVER EVEN CALLED ME!
Now Corporate is saying it's a "Characteristic" of the vehicle! TOTAL BS
I will get the documentation, then call my Attorney

    Classic.

If Toyota keeps this up, the new slogan's going to be "Can't polish a turd gen."

What a joke. What the F is Toyota doing. Vehicles have problems. Manufactures fix those problems under warranty. End of story.

Check out my signature below. I have been a Toyota Fan boy for a lot of years. Lots of these issues are small and should be fixed. But I guess it took them 10 years to find the second generation driveline vibes, maybe it will take theme 10 to fix third generations also.

I'm just tired of seeing everyone say that Toyota tells them it's working as designed. Pure bullshit.

Well....just got my truck back from the dealer...

They definitely felt the vibrations, but they contacted Toyota, and they said it's normal.

WTF!!....what kind of brand new, stock, 40K truck vibrates and shakes everytime you brake. My truck has 500 miles and now rattles if I just cruise in the 15-25mph.

This is the only major problem with my truck, and I am already quite saddened/angered with it. I don't know how you other guys with additional problems (buzzy steering wheel, bad tranny) are staying so calm.

My 5th toyota, and I get a lemon. FML

I think Toyota needs a lesson in the difference between "occurs in all Tacomas" and "normal"

I had taken mine in for the same reasons and the tech experienced it on mine and one they had on the lot and felt it in that one too. They contacted Toyota engineers who then got back with them and said it's their transmission design and it goes back and forth between one gear and 6th to keep mpg's up and that it's "normal." Essentially it's normal for a very poor feeling, rushed to production transmission.

    What he said.

I'm just going to lift mine. Maybe aftermarket suspension and new angles on the drive train will fix this. Toyota sure as hell is not going to so screw the warranty.
