Haven't been on here in ages. Figured I'd reach out to all you whiz kids. 2018 TRD OR Access cab. Automatic.

Here in Mass, we've had our spell of cold days and I can't remember if this issue followed a few days after going through car wash with truck. Also drove through my share of giant road puddles as well. I don't off road.

So the truck would be hesitating between 20 and 30 bigtime. Went to my mechanic, asked him to take a ride and he came back in 5 minutes and said it feels like the tourque converter "shuddering". He took me for a ride and put shift lever over to S and shudder was gone at low speed. He said like one manufacturer is making all the torque converters now for most cars and trucks...…… It was also doing this a bit at highway speeds.

I had also called my Toytoa Service Mgr. who I trust PRIOR to going to my mechanic and Mgr. said bring it down in a few days and we'll figure it out. I got 69K and some change on truck.

So right after visiting my mechanic, I called Toyota back and told him what it looked like. He said sounds about right and I should go down for them to verify. I got the extended warranty. So along comes a 50 degree day and then it's gone...………...I guess that's good news, but could this be a "thing" that could happen again?

FYI. I have my whole undercarriage undercoated with NHoil treatment every year. Could something have migrated somewhere?

I'm not a wrencher at ALL, so hence my question to see if anyone else has experienced something like this.

    Thx

    Brian

As far as the nhoil treatment, i doubt that has anything to do with whatever shudder issue you have. Been cold here to on the connecticut ma. border...haven't noticed anything odd in my sr5 access cab automatic. Was up in lanesborough last thursday...roads were real sloppy going through pittsfield. Lots of big puddles, and potholes.
