Bought my Tacoma sr used with 36k miles on it . At 57k notice shaking while accelerating only at low rpm with light throttle . Did re alignment and rotation. Had a mechanic go through everything found the rotars were warped . Replaced those still have shaking . Driving me nuts anybody that knows or has had this issue plz let me know anything that will help thanks in advance

My mechanic said everything looked ok he said he went through my whole suspension and all under . Only does it at low rpm when light acceleration.

you had shudder on accel and your mechanic said to replace rotors? get a new mechanic. if an acceleration is causing a shudder it's most likely engine related, possibly transmission or other drivetrain. rotors only cause shudder on BRAKING, not slowing, braking. like brake shudder, let off and engine "brake" no shudder...brake system. if shudder on accel, that's not brake related

But how would they warp at 50k? Unless you are towing like all the time. I have 100k on original rotors and pads and drive in shreveport so hard stops are the norm (shitty drivers) and mine don't shake one bit and never changed either (bought the truck with 30k)

It feels like after the shift points it’s shakes and shutters. Then feels like it shakes the whole truck . The rpm needle also flickers slightly up and down . I’m getting my trans fluid changed and the differentials also serviced . Definitely feels trans related

It probably is. My buddies 2019 trd tacoma had a vibration like shudder at very low rpm similar to lugging an engine, than a different vibration around 1600 rpm. It wasn't terrible, but it left you knowing it was there. Dealer said it was a common issue for that trim.

Ive had this off and on on my 2016. At first i thought it was the carrier bearing going bad but I was told it was the torque convertor. It was only on really light acceleration and below 45mph. Never really nailed down why it was happening but eventually it went away after 6 months. Kind of a blessing and a curse that i procrastinated rebuilding the torque convertor/transmission.

    Could be torque converter.

Does this truck have a 3.5+ inch coil lift on it? or is it all stock suspension?

My truck is stock just some 265/75/r17 at tires and it went away for the most part after getting the rear diff serviced and trans fluid changed

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Sounds like the shudder issue people like me got on the 2nd gen. There’s a lot of people reporting low aws from the factory on the 3rd. Gen. My issue went away with a aws service and shudder fix stuff from orileys. Cheers!

Ya sounds like torque converter shudder, change your transmission fluid and it should be good to go. Also find a new mechanic, he's just going parts cannon on it wasting your money because he doesn't know what he's doing

put truck into S5 at anything less than 60 mph. the truck races to get into 6th gear, and if you dont push on the accelerator enough to downshift, you will get the shudder. using D and cruise, or S4, S5 and foot driving, the shuuder is all but, gone. Ski

No, once it randomly went away, it hasn't come back. Not really sure what fixed it.

try resetting the transmission/throttle learned values. mine will eventually start doing it again though. noticed it was pulling a lot of timing so started using 89 octane after resetting the learned values and it didn't do it again until i went back to 87.
