I took it to a transmission shop in San Diego. Didn’t want to mess with trying to do it myself & fudge it my accident. But part was around $300-400. Changed the fluids as well. It runs perfectly now. They did mention if you have the problem for quite sometime that it could get worse & need a transmission overhaul (again if you let it go for a long time). Hope this helps :)

I'm also having this issue, a shudder around 1500 rpm, 25-30 mph, think its at the top of 2nd gear in my 07' automatic 6 cyl Tacoma. Does not happen in 4th gear or have any issues upon acceleration at idle. Based on all I've read on these forums, seems the TC is the likely culprit. She has 220k on the odometer, and as far as I can tell from previous service records (I bought it with 140k) it has the original transmission fluid. I bought lubegard shudderfix (2 oz) but have yet to put it in. I'm willing to try the shudder fix, everything I've read suggests it's risky to do a drain and fill with a high mileage vehicle such as mine that's never had the regular tranny services. But as a sidenote I've also consistently had the Pressure Control Solenoid code thrown from time to time, especially if I'm going fast (60+ mph) and come to a quick deacceleration where the transmission is thrown for a quick loop, the check engine light would come on and I'd be driving at higher-than-normal rpms until I restart the vehicle. This is not super common but has happened so I'm not sure if there is any issue with the solenoids potentially being the culprit here. Any advice would be most appreciated as it seems like there's a lot of nuance around what's the right call on an older transmission. I'd love to see this truck get to 300k, and it runs great other than this slight shudder at a very specific rpm range, I'd like to address the issue but also am weary of opening up a can of worms...
