Not the most graphic but it did make me wince a few times.

It reminded me of the flick "Would you rather?"

I didn't care for the prequel AT ALL!!! Probably because of the time lost in between flicks(1982-2011).

Plus the remake with Kurt Russell was so damn good I prob expected to much from the prequel. I just like the desolate gritty look of the Russell remake.

Jason Voorhees recently appeared in Mortal Kombat X as a DLC fighter, but now he's getting his own new game. Gun Media and developer Illfonic have announced Friday the 13th: The Game, a third-person, asymmetrical multiplayer game for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The hook is that one player controls Jason Voorhees, while seven others take control of camp counselors who are attempting to survive the night.

The game takes place in a "semi-open world" of Camp Crystal Lake from the film series. "It's a classic horror fan's dream, no shaky cam, no found footage," developers said. "We want you to know we're revitalizing the golden era of slashers, and putting you at the controls of each horrific, blood-splattered moment."

As for why Gun Media is not seeking a traditional publisher relationship, the developer said violence, gore, and nudity "aren't just concepts to consider--they're necessities." Partnering with a publisher meant that might have meant these elements would have to be toned down.

"We don't want that. You don't want that," they said. "We're not interested in compromising what made the film franchise so popular. We're interested in building precisely what we, as fans, want. The ultimate Friday the 13th experience. Blood, guts, gore, brutal kills, and more. You want an experience true to the films, and so do we. It's about creative control and delivering the best game we can. We want to share that control, with you, not a publisher."

Friday the 13th: The Game runs on Epic's Unreal Engine 4, and looks quite nice, even in its unfinished state currently.

    Gameplay
Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you.

    How Will You Survive?
The entire focus of Friday the 13th: The Game is multiplayer. Survival is entirely up to you as you either stealthily hide from Jason or work together as a team to escape. Think you can take Jason on? You and the other counselors will have that chance as well. Be warned though, nothing is ever certain and no one is ever safe!

    Play as Jason Voorhees!
For the first time ever, you will have the opportunity to play as Jason Voorhees, the most famous killer in horror. Stalk your prey and ambush them whenever you see fit. Friday the 13th: The Game will include a variety of kills, new and familiar. You’ll even get to unlock various Jason incarnations from the movies as well as two entirely new designs never before seen.

Camp Crystal Lake in All Its Glory.
Mirroring Camp Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13th series, players will try to survive in a camp ground setting. Complete with a lake, cabins, and crazed killer who won’t stop until you die a gruesome death.

    Be Kind. Rewind.
Every aspect of Friday the 13th: The Game
is drawn straight from movies you know and love. We’ve carefully crafted this world to remind you of
everything you remember about Friday the 13th, right down to the visual fidelity of the 80’s. This is exactly how you remember it.

Find a theater near you and make it happen. Revival showings this time of year make pretty big bucks for art theaters.

^^^Yeah cool thing is there's a theater just 3 blocks from my work that has revivals. You can also have friends and family rent out one of the theaters and you can bring your own movie that they can play.
