Everything now is metallic... and I'm getting sick of it. I saw a car with non-metallic paint the other day and thought that looks really, really cool; then I realized what I liked about it was the non-metallic... I hope Toyota has non-metallic options for the 2016... That tan one they have looks really cool I think...

    People like shiny sparkly things...

I was thinking the same thing the other day, saw a plain old mid 80's Toyota in blue the other day...they should bring back those non-metalic paints.

There are a few non-colours you can get on the 2015 Tacoma that are non-metallic, such as black and white. ;)

Nope, its just black. Toyota went from black sand pearl (metallic) to just black (non-metallic). Don't know which year, but my 2011 is just black.

I agree, I'm a fan of the standard colored cars. However MGM is pretty nice looking.

Tacoma had metallic black until 2010, starting in 2011 they changed it to a non-metallic.

I know it's called just "Black" for the 2011+ (which I have) but from personal experience, it actually has flecks of mica in it, so I would say it's technically a little metallic and not just "black"

Paint code 202 (what's used on the 2011+ trucks) is an old colour that's been used since the 80's, it was a single-stage non-metallic paint but now has clear, or at least it should be.

I've looked at it up close with various lighting including sunlight (my car is 204 metallic and I wanted to see 202 which was used one year later) and based on the formulations for mixing it, it should have no metallic in it at all.

    202 is 1-stage or 2-stage pure black
204 is 2-stage black metallic (silver fleck)
209 is 2-stage black metallic (coloured fleck)

There are others that are used on Lexus or are more uncommon like 205 metallic, but 2011+ trucks should definitely be non-metallic.
