Just recently have Super delayed time until check engine light comes on and am able to start it. It turns over fine but no fire becuse no check engine light.
    Things I have done:
Checked and cleaned grounds. Checked fuses . Swapped relays. I am at a loss.
After about 2 minutes the vacuum switching valve finally clicks and engine light comes on starts and runs all day until I shut it down.

Kinda sounds like the PCM may be failing but you need to check that powers, grounds, and the 5v ref is good when the problem occurs before condemning it.

Did some more tests today : pulled and checked the starter circuit relay. No problems there.

Tried a new test turned the key on , took about 5 minutes before engine check light came on started right up.
Turned off the key and waited 15 seconds. Light came on in 5 seconds .
Turned off key and waited 30 seconds. Light took 15 seconds.
Turned off key waited a minute. Light took 30 seconds to come on.
Also if I don't shut the truck off it will run All day.
    Confused here:annoyed:

Swap the horn and ignition relays, maybe. FP relay, maybe. Good luck!

If powers and grounds check out I really suspect the PCM is dying, probably due to one or more of the capacitors leaking.

Checked pin #2 on e5 at ecm to ground with meter had 12.53 volts. With key on , cold .
Now if I turn off key for a minute or longer it takes apx 2.5 minutes for light to come on and truck cranks fine.

My friend said now I have a built in Antitheift device.... haha

Thank you. I will check them out.
I re- soldered one of the bad places on the ecm board and cleaned it up.
The truck still took about 5 minutes before the check engine light came on .
And Suprisingly I was able to start and run it20240302_171536.jpg
