Your NEW mirror(on the bottom), is shaped just like the 4 runner mirror.

For those that swap year and model mirrors, like I'd did with the 4 runner , be aware the plugs usually do not match.
Don't panic, as these are designed to come apart , and then you can remove the wire, and transfer it into the matching (usually your old unit ).
Look carefully at the front of the tacoma male end, where the terminals are , you pull out the front face, slides out with small pick.
Still using a small pick, gently lift up on the retaining tang, and pull the wire out the back.
Pay attention to the layout, so when you press left , it goes left not right.
The trim also are the same size and configuration, colors may change , but it is much better this way , than cutting , soldering etc...
Of course this is for power mirrors .
Also the 4 runner has a Phillips screw on the back , where the retaining bolts go, just remove it , use the gasket that is stock on your new mirrors .
I painted mine Satin black, matches the window trim, and is nicer looking than the chrome stock ones.
The view is half again larger than stock as well .

You are following a thread that has not had activity in two years. However, the power window mod should be a sticky!

My truck came from the factory with crank windows and manual everything. I put 2004 Double Cab power windows, locks, and mirrors into my 1998 Extended Cab.

The switch that i have has a yellow wire with a black stripe and no solid green wire. IT came out of an 02 4runner, and was trying to hook up some power mirrors to my truck. Also cant find any online diagrams explaining what they are. Anybody know?

I will add though that the solid grey wire, and the white with a black stripe are still on the harness, is it safe to assume these are the power and ground wires, respectively?

On these trucks I would not trust anything electrical without double checking with a Meter

I got everything wired up correctly, i posted a thread about my issue that I'm having with the mirrors though, everything works except the up/down feature for the left mirror. I tested continuity on the switch, harnesses and mirrors, and everything checks out. Anyone have any advice? I used the diagram that was posted on the first page of this thread. Instead of a green wire needing to be split, the one I have is yellow. When i put the switch to the right side, I can get it to go up and down, but not on the left. And ive tried multiple switches and have made sure the motors in the mirrors are good.
