Just wondering if anyone has attempted to color match the side mirrors through painting ? I have seen a few posts on painting the chrome covers but none on actual painting of the mirrors.

You can buy them color matched unless you have Impulse Red and Desert Mica I believe.

If you want to go this route, I suggest you take them off and get a paint and body place to shoot them for you, unless you have a paint booth set up at home. Shouldn't be more than $100 for both (don't know how many loonies that equates to) Trying to paint these with a rattlecan in your backyard is a recipe for poor results.

    None yet! It's new!
You could also get the correct color, along with adhesion promoter if needed, primer and clear coat from numerous dealers on line. You just give them the color code from your vehicle and they will provide the matched paint in a spray can.

Pull your mirrors off, prep them, paint and voila - matched mirrrors. Or buy a TRD. The mirrors are very expensive but the free truck comes with them.

I went the cheap route. I bought chrome mirror covers on ebay, sanded the sheen off the chrome, sprayed with adhesion promoter, and then with superhite paint I got from spraycansunlimited on ebay. Turned out perfect and only cost $35 bucks.

I wasn't sure if the paint would stick well to the plastic on the mirrors. That's why I went the cover route. Figured if I screwed it up, no big deal, I'll just take them off.
