For the long bed, I provide six pieces at 23" long each. That's more than enough to cover the top of the side rail. It's okay if there's a couple inch gap between the pieces, all the tape does is act as a spacer between the cap and your paint.

The tape is thin because it has to be. You want the side rail tight to the bed. If the tape were thicker, you'd be able to see it from the side.

This thread is an enjoyable read. The drama over the holes/no holes is gold.

Nope, but I know what 14 gauge steel looks like from a mile away, and that ain't it.

It's definitely plastic. What's interesting is that all four pieces make a flat surface that's all at the same elevation.

This pretty much wipes out two potential products for my business, for 3rd gen trucks anyway. The side rail caps and tailgate cap look like they won't ever need replacing.

Those caps are still plastic, which will not hold up to much abuse like the 2nd gens. You may still have an opportunity.

Plastic can be incredibly strong, and it looks like they did their homework on this one. I'll just find other things to make.

I'm sure it's been answered but can the side bed caps be stood on and not bend? I'm only 230 lbs so it's not like I'm santa claus, but I find myself doing it a lot.
