Got it on in about an hour but my bed bar from relentless fab doesn't fit now and the tool box sits to high but I'm sure I can get them to work. @KB Voodoo , mine didn't come with any holes like on the site, is that a new thing you are doing?

I haven't checked into this thread for quite a while. The bed bars you are talking about... You mean the side rails, or the KB cross bars that connect to the sides?

 

Side rail caps.

The holes were deleted, although I do have a few sets without holes hanging around in case anybody specifically wants them.

 

Anybody have a 2016? How are the side rail caps? Any need for steel ones?

 

Ok, gotcha... I think. I have a relentless tailgate reinforcement, with stock plastic side rails. I wasn't going to get the KB Voodoo side rails (Best IMO)due to fitment issues for the Taco TracRack connectors. ...So now with shims, it looks like that is a non-issue, Am I correct?

 

I'm not familiar with TracRack.

 

That's a rack system that relies on a connector that slides into the rail system. The dimensions of the connector need the original cap height to work, so, a shim under your steel cap can solve that issue. I'm thinking, though, that not having the edge fold over the side rail would totally expose any shim used. Alternatively, I might come up with a shim above the cap just for the TracRack.

 

The only way to shim it would be above the cap. If you put a shim under the rail, the boles holes wouldn't line up.

Just saw a set of these in person and realized that they push the bed tracks closer together. This narrower space will not work with my Bed Bars I was looking forward to getting these..

 

It only makes them about 0.188" closer together. Will that really prevent them from working with your bed bars?

 

I should have measured but my bars sit with just enough room to allow them to slide. I thought it moved them out further, it may be a minimal amount. Maybe I'm being responsible and trying to talk myself out of getting them... dammit lol
