Side steps: better on or off?

I really don't like the look of nerf bars though.

 

Street truck with short or motion restricted folks, on. For the function.

For off road use, don't depend on them for protection, they'll fold easily. Sliders are the answer for that.

So if you off road AND have short or motion restricted folks, sliders set up to protect and serve as steps work out.

Otherwise if you're only thinking of looks, it's up to you.

Agreed, if you off road, take em off, if not, the aesthetic is up to personal taste.
They might be useful if you have young children or someone in the family who would benefit from a leg up whilst getting in or out of the truck.

 

Speakin' of side steps, I have Nastas, who are no longer in business..... any idea where u can get extra plastic steps for them. Just lost one in the car wash

Good for 3 things… Getting dirt on the back of your calf, protecting door panels from rock chips, washing/ waxing the roof. Notice how entry is not listed

 

Really dislike mine (chrome) but they came with the truck and my wife is vertically challenged and needs them to get in and out of the truck. They are handy however for waxing, clearing snow and loading onto the roof racks. They are not as noticeable when the are black and would have been my choice if I had to buy a set. Just depends on what you like.

I like them better off too, but they are handy for washing and waxing

 

Keep them on if lifting a few inches. Off at stock hight looks cleaner.

 

If they stick out enough, they protect from door dings from cars.

 

Those are hardly noticable on that truck. If you use them, keep them. If you don't, it doesn't really matter either way since they barely noticable.
