I'm looking to add some steps to my trd sport. I'm trying to decide between the westin thrasher or the westin Outlaw steps maybe even the oem aluminum toyota steps. Im wanting it more to protect my doors than anything.

I went with the OEM running boards. They aren't really much of a step but they look good and provide some door protection

I went with Tyger sliders that I got from Walmart. It was less than $300 and pretty beefy to protect door dings20210402_000527.jpg

Interested as well for an AC. A short legged friend has a real problem getting into the sport. You need to be tall enough to put your butt into the seat and swivel. Not everyone is.

I got the Predator steps so my short wife can get into the truck. They work great for her. 8CF1146E-8358-4B94-9AE6-415C3D9DDBE5.jpg

If you're anywhere with salt, stay away from steel. I have some steel nfab that are already rusty.

The aluminum OEM steps are prefect for stopping door dings. Look for a set on Craig'slist.

Most of my door dings come from other trucks and SUVs. Small cars are never really problem so I guess the steps help to some degree. I’ve got oem steps from a 2nd gen on my 3rd gen.

Good running boards. But calling them sliders is bad marketing. They will offer no support Offroad.

100% agree - it is a running board

Yea not looking for a slider, I don't do any off road. I'm in Southern Ontario so road salt is a concern for sure. Aluminum is probably a good thing, but the hardware is almost never aluminum. So the brackets will rust anyway. I'm getting the truck undercoated every year.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Location? I'm looking to offload some predators with 150 miles on them at a discount. Shipping is a no go, obviously.

Sliders, running boards, predator streps, whatever are too low to prevent most door dings. Just take a look at how high the part of another vehicle’s door is that will hit your door....especially look at the back door of most four door sedans and SUV’s. The only protection from most door dings is careful parking and a long walk.

To those that have the OEM Predator Steps.I am wondering how the finish holds up in northern climates?Have you had any chipping or flaking of the powder coat or corrosion where the end caps are fitted to the bar,due to the salt and brine products used on our roads?

My parents neighbor has them for a few years now, no issues. One of the reasons why I got them.
