This is the first truck I have had that I want to add side steps to but want good functional ones that will last. How hard is it to do myself? And is the dealer a good place to look? I have the double cab sr5 trim. :help::stayontopic:

Side steps are just bolt on. 6 bolts on each side of the truck. If you look under your truck now, you will see plastic caps covering the holes. Pull them out, use included hardware to install steps. If you wanna get something stronger for off-roading, then get something that welds on to the frame.

The more popular choice for steps are the OEM predators, but they can get pricey. Running boards work well too. Various vendors online have steps as well if you use the power of google.

I have a set of predators for a double cab that I would give you a bargain on if you're local (PNW).
