If you had to run a new ground, then I repeat what I said above...maybe it is only the ground that is not grounded yet. Worth looking into if you haven't already.

So I installed the TRD sport signal mirrors on my TRD off road. Was it confirmed that they are just not grounded? When grounded will they function? All the wires are in the male and female connectors. What do I ground it to?

Hey apoteker - ever figure this out? I have the same exact issue you have (5 wires to the harness, but the blinker wires have no juice) and I was hoping you could short circuit some of my investigation time into this...

I picked up some of these:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZD6KQG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

...and Dupli-color rattle-canned the mirror caps. Came out pretty good after a color sand, cut and buff, polish. I installed them today and was super bummed to find out that the wires running up the door are currently dummies. I thought I had faulty mirrors at first until I checked the wires with a voltmeter.

Oh yeah, i figured it out... had to make my own wiring harness and run it through the door panels to the fuse panel. I installed some bed lights and used the same wiring per the Toyota bedlight wiring instructions to get the puddle lights to work. it wasnt too hard but wished there had been an easier solution.

I am pleased that the bed lights, puddle lights and int dome lights all fade on/off with key remote so looks factory.

Bringing up an old thread in an effort to get my turn signal mirrors working.

The wire locations within this connector that @AeroCooper is pointing to, on my truck these are blank (no wires). However, I popped off the connector and touched the male pins within the fuse panel receptacle and these are in-fact 12v sources for left and right blinkers.

My thought is that I could purchase some female terminal pins that will fit inside the factory connector, run some wires up to the mirrors and finally have some side view mirror signals.

Does anyone have any clue how to identify the correct female terminal to get? Something like this is what I'm thinking:

    That's it!!! You are a genius @caribe makaira !!

It's the middle one labeled "1.0III IDC" in your first reply. Do you by any chance... have a link? I'm searching on Mouser's site but feel like a fumbling idiot trying to sift through 1,000's of connectors.

That's exactly the connection at the mirror. I pulled the truck apart this afternoon and traced the wires of pin 4 & 5 forward into the cab. It goes into a black hole... so I'm planning on just running new wiring up to the mirror.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Didn't realized that was the Toyota Part No:
    https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~terminal~repair~w~w~82998-12690.html

    ---Old Post--
That's right, that's the location I'm trying to use. Do you have any idea how to find the female connectors? I've been searching Google for nearly every variant of the text in that image:

    IDC connector
    1.0III Connector
    1.0III IDC Connector
    IDC connector 82998-12690
    etc.

Never tried to search for something like this before so it's like reading Greek.

Yes it does. It has all 5 wires going from the mirror, thru the vapor barrier in the door, down towards the cab, but then the wires seem to vaporize coming into the cab - can't find them.

The bottom 2 pins/male terminals on the middle receptacle in that 1st pic are hot (they have 12v alternating with the blonkers). But the wiring harness/connector that goes in that middle spot is missing wires in those 2 blinker pin locations.

Follow the wires to the remote mirror switch towards the connector which mates the turn signal wires towards the doors...it is a separate connector but joins the wires before sending them left n right.
