Tell your insurance you were parked at a shopping mall and when you walked out to your truck after shopping you found the damage

Man, there’s a lot of jokers making fun of a man’s misfortune. That said, depending on your insurance, I’d pay out of pocket. Sucks but it happens. Either way, sorry to see this

Damn... shit happens man. It’s a new truck just claim it and get it fixed properly and put it behind you.

I’m sure you’ll be more careful after this experience.

Sucks. But how the F do you hit something from the tail light and proceed to reverse all the way to the rear door without stopping and noticing.

Expensive. It will cost you your deductible. Insurance may or may not go up. Probably will.

Personally, I'd just drive it, and not have to worry about it offroad or in parking lots. My wife did something similar in her 2017 CRV that will cost us the deductible, but who knows what it will do to premiums, as we've had 3 deer collisions and one at fault in the last 6 years. We're just going to drive it. Not sweating the looks, and now I'm not worried about door dings.
