I walked to my truck to find that the mirror from the assembly was stolen. The signal still works, and the white alignment panel still moves in response to the controls, so that leads me to believe it was stolen, and not hit, as it was originally folded to avoid being hit.

My insurance deductible is $500, so I might just order a new mirror, overnight it, and install it myself. Unless I should have the dealer do it. Has anybody replaced this before?IMG_2892.jpg

It would be very easy to fix this. You can order just the mirror glass and it simply snaps in.

Or just go steal one off someone else. You know, pay it forward.

kidding. Seriously though, who steals a mirror?

When you get the replacement glass, the two tabs at the top will need to slide into and behind the "slots" at the top of the white plastic plate. Make sure you push it all the way up before you try to snap the bottom clips of the mirror onto the "bars" on the white plastic plate. It will take a bit of force to make the mirror snap in. Once you think you have it in, give it a tug or two to make sure it won't fall out.

Thanks Shadow, I appreciate that. Seriously there's always an asshole. I'm just grateful he didn't damage anything or scratch it while stealing.

Yeah but I got one day shipping which was about $25 because it's not safe to drive without the mirror, due to the shell obscuring my rear view mirror. Thanks though.
