Sierras Juneish Trip Planning

Is there going to be a base camp or are we moving all around? Need to plan sleeping/tent arrangements and we might stay a day longer. Don't want to be driving home on the 4th.

 

The 4th is my B-day so would rather be camping than driving. Fireworks are overrated anyway.

 

I hear fireworks in my neighborhood almost daily, it's freak'n ridiculous. Yeah, I live in one of THOSE neighborhoods

So... I'm leaning heavily towards going on this trip. My main attraction is to relax and enjoy camping in the Sierras. I would be up for some medium level Trail runs but I don't have sliders or skids so would want to keep it relatively mild. If that's okay with you @uhplifted i will sign on. Mainly looking forward to a weekend of hanging with cool folks and enjoying the beauty.

 

There is no plans of any off roading as of yet. I plan to do exactly what you said. Just a weekend of relaxing. Going on some hikes. Doing some fishing and just having a good time.

Oops, missed this earlier. Camping plans are still in the works. I'm thinking we probably will be moving around? Maybe stay at one place Friday and Saturday, and then another Sunday Monday? I need to get together with @bigbarlo again soon (Thursday brewery?) and find out about yellow posts/paid campgrounds. I need a confirmed list of people as soon as possible so we can make our camping arrangements as well.

 

FYI... I plan to head up early on Friday and will be coming home on Monday (spend 4th of July with the family). I would love to caravan up on Friday if any other folks will be leaving that morning.

 

I'm taking Friday off from work for my drive day. Not sure exactly when I'll be leaving yet or where. Either my house in Yorba Linda, or my girlfriends in LA. We can figure out a tacovan closer to the date for sure though.

 

Probably could arrange a meet up spot near the bottom of Cajon Pass off the 15. There's a cool saloon in Lone Pine (Jake's) with a shuffle board that's fun for a quick pit stop and beverage on the way.

 

I'm a strong maybe. If we do go, will bring wife and 2 kids, so I'm making sure no conflicts there. Love the Sierras!
