We're pushing the dates of this back a couple months due to scheduling conflicts. Appreciate the pictures. That campsite you got there looks nice.

As I've mentioned, in down to hit the Sierras every weekend this time of year. Realistically there's no reason not to on road to such a gorgeous piece of landscape.

Damn, im out there all the time already. Mammoth would be the best area, hot springs, fishing, hiking, brewery's , off roading and shooting. You can do it all out there. I would most likely be in if there's room.

I'll be out in the Northern Sierras (mostly Tahoe/Plumas/Lassen) from the 10th to 14th. On the way down, we're going to hit Bald Mountain & Voyager Rock. Leaving from San Diego.

@goblue82 If you would like, I have maps of the Bridgeport area from training there in the past. They are MGRS if you're down with that. The roads and LZ's are all on BLM land so it's co-use military and civilians. Also, the roads support HMMWV's and 7-Tons so their plenty big for our trucks. Once my immune system comes back after this past round we can link up or something. Let me know.

Brian, do you have any time frame in mind for the reschedule? I am hoping to make it to Mammoth area sometime this summer. It would be great if @bigbarlo, @stvstoy, and @goblue82 could make it as well.

Juse got back from my little trip. Only did 1 off road trip because the others in my group didn't want to go. I did the Sand Canyon route fom Toms place to the little lake at the end of the trail. It was mainly a fishing trip. Fished Lake Sabrina. No luck there. Pulled 5 out of Bishop creek. 2 out of Convict Lake. 15 out of Rock Creek Lake. No luck at Lee Vining. Kept some. Ate some. Released the rest so I can catch them next year. Over all a fantastic time up there.20170716_060903.jpg 20170712_173345.jpg 20170711_135708.jpg 20170710_140528.jpg

The rig I used up there is a Garcia Abu 520 real with 4# line on the spool. The rod is a Garcia. Both rod a real are from the early 70's. It was a promotion from Dodge. My dad picked up 2 sets that have caught my trout. I use a verity of lures. Mostly Castmasters, Thomas Buoyant and the new addition are some Tasmanian Devils. I tie a small swivel on the end of the line and then attach the lure. Pink, Red, Gold and some sort of Trout coloring worked the best for me this year. I would keep changing the lure about every 20 cast. Very simple.

Other fishing up there were having success with worms, salmon eggs and garlic cheese type bait.
It was a great 7 days of fun !!!
