I've been fishing the sierras my whole life. Grab yourself an Ultra light 6 foot rod, and ultralight spinning real, 1/8 and 1/4 oz weights, some Carolina Keepers. Spool up with 4 lb test and grab some 2lb line to use as leaders. Mini jigs, mice tails, and power bait. I also suggest a short 3-4 ft rod for fishing in creeks with lots of overgrowth from above.

Rhet, you're going, brother. Ilao Adventures unite!

I've got an exceller reel my girlfriend got me. Idk what type of reel that is but it's apparently pretty good. I'll have to look at what rods my pops got at home and then buy whatever else. Along with all that tackle. Time to start the collection.

Everything I mentioned will run you about 150 bucks. You'll quickly realize reels aren't one size fits all. Example: you need an ultra light reel for trout, but you're gonna need a beefier reel for large mouth bass. It's yet another expensive hobby. I love guns, but reeling in a 60lb bluefin tuna in Mexico is my jam. Especially when its filleted and cooked for you same day back at the villas with an ice cold brewski

I don't think dates are set but I'll keep you posted, boiiiii!

Ya, I know the whole different rods/reels for different types of fishing. Just not sure what type of reel mine falls under. $150 ain't bad for all that. I can gather that all up easily in the next couple months no problem.

Yup! That's the whole purpose of this one. Just a nice relaxing 5 days of Mother Nature.

If you go to the Fred Hall Show you'll get all that for half off. And Cali Raised is there so you can go get some lights

I'll have to look this Fred Hall show up. I'm good on lights haha. I need an external fuse box before I add any more accessories.

    Check Build thread
Make sure to stock up on lures as well. Over the last couple years they've really taken off.

Also the mice tails and occasional salmon egg in stream fishing generally yields good results

Or you can just run a spaghetti rats nest like Danny Danny.

Do it. So sick the Fred Hall show is. Also, look up Lets Talk Hook Up. Great radio show to put you on the latest.

Thomas bouyants work well for me. I find a mini jig tipped with a meal work does great work.

I can start you in the eastern Sierras, dip you into Death Valley, and be back in the Sierras for dinner.
