I've seen float tubers out there fly fishing and canoes. Not sure if I've seen kayaks. I think I've seen them before though.

Yes.. boats and kyaks etc... you do have to conform to cal boat regs.. with motors etc... but there are plenty of kyaks, and float tubes on all the lakes... all lakes have boat rentals also...
june, silver, gull lakes have a 10/15 mph speed limit all day. Grant lake has a speed limit till 10am.. after that you will see ski boats and some jet-skis...

i've just got a tandem hobie. no motor or anything. Sounds like any other lake/bay limits though. Will be interesting to wheel with it on though; that will be a first.

I wheeled with my spare on my roof this weekend and wasn't happy with it. The Prinsu has too much flex. Thos Hobie's are legit. I've seen some guys outfit them for salt. Complete with trolling motor, live well, gps, fish finder, you name it. I YouTube videos of guys reeling in shark with those setups. So sick

yeah mines got the dual mirage drives and a Finder with some rod holders. I take it out in Lajolla when i can. No sharks...yet. Definitely love it and would recommend it to anyone if its in your budget. It weighs close to 100#, if the spare was a bitch this might be a bit more interesting.

I dont know how you guys do it. Kayak in salt, especially at night. That's spooky af. My pals that lobster hoop go out there at night. Mucho respek! I have a shark donut (float tube) I use in the Sierras. That's about as wild as I get. Haha.

@goblue82 you should take your donut into the deep blue. There's nothing better than being out there at gray light and something brushes your leg. You seize up and pucker like you've never puckered before. Then you realize it's only sea weed. That'll wake you up faster than coffee! I mainly tubed the salt until I sold my tube.
