Seized drum? First for me. Decided to replace brakes, drums, rotors, and all hardware on my Tacoma. She has 310K. Front, no issues. Passenger rear, took a while to back off adjustment but simple enough. Driver side rear, got two clicks and self-adjuster wouldn't move. Drum wouldn't move. It's like the shoes are engaged. Pulled off parking cable, no difference. Opened bleed in case of pressure, no difference. Put tire on and dragged it for ten feet before it started to turn. Around the block, loosens up and works. Go to back off adjustment and it is seized again. Anyone see this before?

Your shoe may have a groove in the drum. Back off the star adjuster and use the threaded holes on the drum and use M8 x 1.25 bolts and alternate as you tighten the M8s as a puller.

It's got a 1/8 lip. The issue is the adjuster appears to be seized. The bolts can't pull past the lip and can strip if pushed too far.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
You are holding the spring away from the adjuster while backing the adjuster off? Going the correct direction ? I still get confused .

Might be time to cut the drum off .
