I havent gotten to shoot one, They seem to be a very solid rifle. I wanted one, but couldn't bring myself to dump the extra money for the piston since I would rarely shoot enough ammo to gum it up for the piston to be an advantage. Also Sig will not offer any extra parts (yet). It looks like a great design though. I've picked them up and the quad rail + piston mech. does make it a bit forward heavy but its a sweet gun. Dunno if you have seen this, but im sold (if I had the $):

    Thanks RunnOr.

I keep going back and forth if I want to get an AR platform or not. If I do I want to get a piston setup, I just like the design. I've been able to fondle a 516 and 716 but haven't been able to shoot one yet. Hopefully some other member have been able to and will share their experiences.

No problemo. I did the same, but decided on a Colt due to the budget and use. I thought the Sig "tension device" that puts tension on the upper and lower was genius. I'd like to see what owners here say too. I've read a lot on the AR15.com reviews and no negative info seems to exist.

I've heard it is difficult to get spare/extra Sig parts since they are always out of stock. Since it is an AR platform, I don't think it would be an issue unless you want spare piston parts.

If you are hard set on piston, I would got LWRC. Adams uppers I've heard are hit or miss.

If you got DI, you have a ton more options and a bit more cash saved since it is a cheaper option.

    Thanks for the responses.

    Aren't LWRC's like 2 - 3 grand?

Yes, about 40% than a sig piston rifle.
