I personally hate the trigger on those things. I carry an M&P Shield with the 8+1 mag... Works for me, thin and I can hit the target with it.

With a nearly endless selection of very high quality pistols on the market now, it’s hard to choose one that has even the slightest hint of potential problems.

I agree. I chose the 320 as I'm really a single-action hammer 1911 guy. But there's no shortage of polymer 9s out there.

Just stick with their hammer fired pistols.

It turns out that the incident with the USAF Airman wasn't the 320 at all. But that is going to have a hard time altering the established perception.

It seems that the story keeps changing on that one.

I prefer hammer-fired. Generally a bit more expensive, but I like them.

I've had my P320-M17 for quite a while now and have in excess of 8,000 rounds on mine with not even a single hiccup. Plenty of range sessions mixed with USPSA and 2G-ACM format matches. I am 100% comfortable with mine and would highly likely would have had an AD by now.

Would I buy another one? Probably not when there's such good competition in that space. Sig really F'd up the way they (didn't) handled it in my eyes, and doubled down rather than fix a fault.

Interestingly enough, look into the Barrett MRAD uncommanded firing issues the USMC is having for a similar phenomenon.

You know, we never heard about the 1911 having this problem during its long service. The USMC was right, we should have kept it.

Like most Browning designs, it just works. And keeps working.
