Signal Mirrors for Older Tacoma?

Hi folks, new forum member here...

As my username implies, I love gadgets. I have done many small mods to my Tacoma since buying it new in '07. One mod I have always wanted is some sort of mirror head turn signal. The newer Tacoma's of course have LED signals mounted on the outside edge of the mirror head. Replacing my mirror heads with newer factory mirror heads would be to costly, so I'm searching for an alternative. I was hoping my internet search would turn up aftermarket mirror glass with integrated LEDS, similar to those found on Chevy pickups, but no such luck.

Any suggestion?

I bought a pr of 2012 base model electric mirrors fairly cheap from FS thread here for my 08 reg cab then later bought the blinker and superwhite covers cut out for the blinker and also scored the oem pwr mirror switch. Far as I've gotten so far since I will have to manually wire it all up. RC has no pwr mirror wiring in the doors or dash. Probably have right at $200 in all the parts. Got several wiring projects ahead of that. Never had pwr mirrors in either 05 AC or 08 RC so I just pointed them manually to be of use and will wait out wiring them becoming high enuff priority on the project list. I just found the below item on Amazon...it mounts behind the mirror glass. Not sure how bright it is, but it has several decent reviews. For the money, I think I'll give it a try.

 

The backside of my mirror glass was blacked out. How does it shine thru?
