Hey everyone, 1st post on TW.

I've been reading a lot of threads here trying to determine what wheels and tires would fit on my stock 2011 Tacoma and seemed like people were able to get up to 265/70R17 without any issues. Well, apparently that's not the case for me as I just put new Method NV 305s on my Falken Wildpeaks that are that size and I'm getting rubbing all over the place. The wheels I bought are 17x8.5" 6x5.5", 0mm offset 4.75" backspace which also seemed pretty common.

What can I do to alleviate the rubbing I'm seeing. Based on the attached pictures, it's on both the front and back of the fenders, but nothing on the inside of the wheel well from what I can tell. I had planned on doing a small 1.5" OME lift in time, but I feel like I'm going to have to dive into that a lot earlier than I anticipated. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

I have those same wheels on my Tacoma. Cut that plastic and ditch the front mud flap.

The 8.5 0 offset is what cause your issue. Do what the others mentioned.

The issue is the tire size you have to go with some 285’s :anonymous:

    Haha, 285s....

thanks everyone. I borrowed my roommates propane torch and heated the plastic down and pushed it out of the way as much as I could, then took a box cutter to the areas that were still causing issues. After doing some testing, I’m still rubbing in rare circumstances like coming down a steep bank and turning full lock but the vast majority of the spots have been eliminated. I just didn’t really want to take the mudflaps off and start scratching things up.

Once I get the lift on everything should be smooth sailing. Thanks again!
