I could use some advice- My buddy at work is selling his FJ and is selling his silver TRD wheels separately. He says I can have them for $400. Just wondering what you guys think- I was leaning toward anthracite, but I think that silver looks good on SS Mica trucks. If anyone has pics, it would be appreciated!!

Dude for 400 I would take them. I believe they are selling for much more elsewhere. They will look awesome in a silver truck.

Depending on what kind of condition they are in that is a good price. Here is a picture to give you an idea of what they look like on a SSM:

Awesome!! Thanks for the pic- Your truck looks great!! I am leaning toward buying the wheels. They are only 1 year old- off a mall crawler. I figure I can get them powder-coated if I decide to change the color.

I think I would go for it. I went through a ton of hassle trying to get the Anthracite ones. Finally got them, but Toyota re-instated the (limit of one wheel and only with vin#).

Yeah I think I am going to buy the wheels. Only 6mos on the truck- mall crawler. They are immaculate. The owner has already sold the FJ so they are sitting in his basement and he says he will hold them until spring for me (no salt on the roads). Owner is throwing in the lug nuts and tires all for $400 Cdn- no tax! I figure if I dont't like the silver, I can sell the tires to cover the cost of powdercoating to a light gunmetal like on the Countersteers. Only need to transfer over the tpms monitors and it will be awesome!! Does anyone know if the tpms from standard alloy Taco wheels will fit the FJ rims?

Tpms should work from standard Taco alloy wheels. The FJ wheels will look great on your truck!! I have a new set waiting to go an my silver DCLB as soon as I can afford tires, probably after Christmas.

Thanks for your input guys- I met with my friend at work yesterday and confirmed the sale. I can hardly wait!

BTW- he sold the FJ to buy a brand new 4Runner. Says he just loves it!! Once a Toyota guy, you never go back.:D

I finally got the TRD FJ rims I bought installed on my truck.

I was able to get them for $400 and sold the tires on them for $180!

The tires covered most of the cost of mounting, balancing and an alignment.

Painted the rusty brake drums with Caliper paint, since they are quite visible with these rims.
