Figure 800 ft lbs of torque vs a Volkswagen would be a walk in the park.

These types of threads never cease to amaze me...just like the 'should i sell my tacoma and buy a ranger' thread. Seriously, why would come onto a toyota forum and ask if you should trade off your yota for a ford or chevy? If you want a bigger truck, whats wrong with a tundra? Unless you're shopping for a 1 ton, then that's a different story.

Because not everyone is a Toyota fanboy such as yourself and most people have had excellent input on the Sierra or the Silverado.

Some people have different views on full size vs midsize. I wouldn't buy a Tundra if I wanted full size and I wouldn't buy a Ranger or a Frontier if I wanted a midsize. Personal preference I suppose.

People obviously have had some problems with them. My father bout a base 2wd 5.7 in the 90s. 3 trannys he went through just driving around town. Now he has a duramax with the Allison trans. Both interior seats cushions up front are able to be detached. The a/c only works on one side. Now my gf 99 blazer had two trannys in it and all interior plastic rattled your head off. Just my experience with Chevy. Food for thought.

It doesn't matter what way u look at it, wheels spin so he lost traction whatever, u got a duramax 2500 designed for towing and u got vw grocery getter, if u look later on in the video u see the duramax catch traction and grocery getter still pulls it, to funny

I voted for the GMC Sierra based on how the front grill looks. If you need a full size truck, you gotta do what you gotta do. IMO the GM trucks are blah looking. FWIW, I also think the Tundra is the ugliest truck made.
    Good luck.

Yes, I should clarify that it's the 2007 and newer Tundras I think are ugly. The first generation Tundras are nice looking trucks, IMO.

I'm not a total fanboy. Toyota is certainly my brand of choice. I mean i'd love to own a newer duramax someday because of toyota's lack of diesel power in the U.S. But if i was gonna buy one and needed help i'd probably get a membership on a chevy forum. I just don't see the point in asking people on a toyota website (Many of whom are diehard toyota fans) if they should buy a chevy or ford. I mean, if you're looking for buying advice on fords or chevies, wouldn't you go to an according forum?. I never thought i would be trolled on here for saying TOYOTA is a better choice of truck than another. ...BUT, i suppose that's why this is in the general automotive/offtopic section. But to answer the question, both trucks look decent. Tough choice. The color matching on the chevy is nice, but the chrome on the gmc and the skewp (i think that's what that is) looks good too.
